As I look at some of the other reviews, I have to wonder if some people are better at finding fault than appreciating the high points of an overall pleasurable dining experience.
This restoration is gorgeous, making it a really nice venue for a meal or a drink. There are many tempting menu choices including interesting twists on several traditional dishes.
I had the tavern burger as described on the menu and the combination of fixings was a real taste treat. The mac and cheese is excellent and the succotash was a serious surprise. I resisted ordering it because it brought to mind the canned vegetables of my “mid-century” past. But I totally loved this dish which included many different vegetables that I think were all roasted. That will be a regular order for me. The cheddar biscuits with butter and apple butter that were served first to the table were amazing. I could have easily made a meal on those.
Our food came out of the kitchen quickly. The bar drinks were no slower than any other establishment I dine at regularly. Unlike most establishments, the drinks here are a generous pour with quality liquors. Who can argue with that? : )
Finally had an opportunity to enjoy dinner at the Cadillac tonight. We had made reservations and were seated immediately with our waitress close behind. Service was great, salads/entrees/sides were tasty (pork chops were delicious), and we decided to go all the way and have dessert. Chocolate cake was good & rich, special feature tonight was a cherry poke cake and that needed a little tweaking as the frosting layers should have been a lighter butter cream and this was more the texture of butter...but still going with 5 stars as there was an attempt at least by the baker to try something different in the kitchen and that was appreciated!
We loved our experience at the Cadillac House just the other day. The food was yummy, the service was top-notch, and the place is beautiful!
